And now for the news I hope you’re reading AFTER breakfast. Yes, you heard it, mice in Ikea’s candy – “GODIS PÅSKKYCKLING”. Don’t ask me to pronounce it; I don’t want to know. All I know is that I’d rather eat jellied moose nose topped with E. coli than have a mischief of mice (yes, mischief is the correct term for a group of mice; I looked it up) running amuck in my favorite snack.
“These products may contain harmful bacteria,” the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said in a recall notice issued Tuesday. “Consumers should not consume the recalled product described below.”
Well, duh, Canadian health inspectors. Thanks for that helpful bit of information.
Candies affected by the recall were sold in Alberta, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec in 100-gram packages which display the words “Marshmallow candy” below the Ikea name “Godis Paskkyckling.”
To date, there have been no illnesses or other injuries associated with the recall, Ikea said.
